The ALS Laboratory Group's Environmental
Division, provides reliable analytical testing data that help consulting and engineering firms, industry, and governments around the world make informed decisions about their environmental projects.



Our testing services support a wide range of projects including:

- environmental monitoring, impact assessment and baseline studies

- industrial permit monitoring

- contaminated site assessment and remediation

- drinking water and food testing

- air quality monitoring (point source and ambient)

- occupational hygiene investigations

- waste characterization.



ALS's Environmental Division analytical capabilities include trace-level organic, inorganic (non-metallic and metallic), physical, microbiological, and toxicological analyses for more than 2000
parameters in sample types including water, seawater, soil, sediment, plant and animal tissue and air.Other services include mobile and on-site analysis; data management and customized reporting; laboratory design and training; and other disciplines requiring a sophisticated analytical approach.


In Canada, ALS's Environmental Division operates 14 environmental laboratories and 2 service centres (GTA) located from Vancouver BC to Halifax NS. All ALS's Environmental laboratories in Canada are acccredited by the Canadian Association for Environmental Analytical Laboratories (CAEAL) to ISO 17025 for specific environmental tests. The Edmonton laboratory specializes in pesticides, ultra trace chemistries and Industrial Hygiene besides the full suite of inorganic and organics analyses.
